The Battery Management System (BMS) is the control circuitry of your lithium battery. It protects the cells from temperature problems and shorts by shutting the battery off in unsafe conditions, and it keeps the cells balanced by adjusting charging rates, for pack quality and efficiency.

It's in protection mode, a safety feature that prevents damage to your application. It recovers when charging resumes on a compatible charger. If it doesn't, contact us.

No. Our batteries are IP65 rated, which means they can get wet, but submerging them can make the silicone seal fail. Submerging a battery voids the warranty.

LBP recommends one of our lithium smart chargers at the matching voltage. LBP chargers are rugged and backed by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. Contact us with questions about charger compatibility, or read what charger you need.

Whatever the configuration, a multi-bank charger will charge multiple batteries at once. Every LBP battery has a built-in BMS that prevents overcharging.

Inverter chargers. Most RVs, trailers, motorhomes and solar systems now have an inverter charger with a built-in transfer switch for shore power or a generator, and most can be programmed. Charge your lithium batteries to their designated voltage for your setup; check the manufacturer's manual or ask our team. Example profile for a 12V battery:

If you don't have a custom setting, choose the profile closest to this without going over 15V.

It depends on your charger's type and capacity and the size of the battery. Lithium takes a charge faster than lead-acid.

In most cases, yes. An LBP lithium battery can be used with a solar charger as long as the charge controller is lithium compatible. See the solar guide.

Lithium batteries are much more efficient at charging and discharging than lead-acid. Lead batteries can't discharge more than 80%, and most manufacturers recommend never going past 50%. You can use 100% of a lithium battery, and it holds a consistent voltage the whole time, so there's no drop in power as it depletes.
